Virtual Corporate Universities

A source of new insights for the effective use of new technologies. This is the result of the holistic approach to education in general and the knowledge and experience of Professor Dr. W.R.J Baets and Gert van der Linden. Baets is Professor of Innovation, Information and Knowledge at Universiteit Nyenrode as well as the Director of NOTION (the Nyenrode Institute for Knowledge Management and Virtual Learning). Van der Linden is founder of consultants Donedeal in Monaco.

Throughout the years, companies have experimented extensively with distance learning and online education. Yet in many cases, this new technology has not provided the desired results. In their book ‘Virtual Corporate Universities’, Baets and Van der Linden combine knowledge management with organization management and individual learning. Walter Baets completed his Econometrics and Operations Research degree at the Universiteit van Antwerpen in Belgium. He was awarded a PhD by the University of Warwick in Industrial and Business Studies. Following ten years in business he has held various positions in the academic world in Belgium, Russia, The Netherlands and Spain. His main focus has been management development, both in Russia and the Arab world.
