OutStart to Showcase Wireless Mobile Capabilities at Learning Technologies Conference

OutStart and Customer Royal Navy Also to Present

Boston – January 22, 2009 – At the upcoming 2009 Learning Technologies Conference (January 28 – 29) in London, OutStart will highlight how learners can use OutStart’s solution set to develop, manage, maintain, deliver and access a wide array of formal and informal learning (including courses, assessments, surveys, best practices, experts on-demand, blogs and videos) from popular wireless mobile devices.

Additionally, OutStart customer Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander Paul Pine and OutStart Vice President of Marketing Jeff Whitney will present innovative strategies and best practices for developing, managing, maintaining and delivering learning and knowledge in two, separate presentations.

Mobile Learning

“Our customers are seriously exploring wireless mobile computing to support formal and informal learning as well as performance support,” said Massood Zarrabian, chief executive officer of OutStart.  “Across our solution sets, OutStart is making mobile learning and knowledge sharing not only feasible but easy to implement and practical to use.”

Show attendees will have a chance to personally “test drive” OutStart’s latest wireless mobile capabilities.  “Test drivers” will have their names entered into a drawing for a new Blackberry Bold™.

Speakers

Lt Cdr Pine’s speech is titled “Managing Content for Great Learning Impact.”  Attendees can hear his remarks (part of Track 1, Session 4) on January 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the Olympia 2 conference center in London.

  • Lt Cdr Pine, who overseas the development of training for the Royal Navy’s new Type 45 Daring Class destroyer, will showcase how the OutStart LCMS personalized training for each sailor and officer, which reduced the time it took trainees to gain proficiency on various weapons systems.  Lt Cdr Pine will also speak to how the LCMS boosted the production rate of training through reuse of content and enabled collaboration on the design of learning.

Mr. Whitney’s presentation – titled “The Collision of Learning & Business:  How to turn formal and informal learning into a top priority” – will begin on January 28 at 2:00 p.m. on the Exhibition Floor, Theater 2 of Olympia 2.

  • Mr. Whitney will highlight how Learning & Development groups are:  proving their strategic importance by helping their organizations become more agile in responding to market changes; enabling people to perform their jobs more effectively through formal and informal knowledge transfer; and by delivering tangible, rapid ROI.

Attendees and the media can find OutStart at Stand 74 at Olympia 2 from Jan. 28 – 29, 2009.
