What are the 5 most powerful didactical principles?

I’m looking for your input, what are the five most important didactical principles to apply when creating e-Learning? The reason I’m asking is that we are doing a project to support our users (most of them do not have an e-Learning background) in creating more effective and didactical sound content. I will explain in this post.

didacticsEasygenerator is an e-Learning authoring tool for people with no e-Learning background. We know that our tool must be so intuitive that anyone can log in and without any training can start creating courses, assessments, e-books and curated documents. But that is not sufficient. We also know that an expert without a didactical background will very often not create the most effective e-Learning. They will go in with a Powerpoint mindset and create very content heavy courses without a proper didactical framework.

Didactical principles

At Easygenerator we are building in didactical support for our authors. We added a very simple didactical model:

  1. Create a learning objective
  2. Come up with the assessment for that objective (questions)
  3. Add only content that the learner needs to answer these questions.

We added a tool (the Learning objective maker) to help people create proper learning objectives, and we are developing a ‘Didactical coach’ that will give you didactical advice based on the content you have created. Improving this support is one of our primary goals for the next 12 months. And this is where I need your input:

What are the five most powerful didactical principles that we should support in our e-Learning authoring tool?
